Construction

The Construction Team consists of a Construction Manager, a Utility Coordinator and four Construction Inspectors. They perform construction oversite and inspections for projects throughout the City Public Works Department. The Utility Coordinator reviews construction plans and collaborates with utility services, both City-provided and via external agencies. The Construction Inspectors provide inspection services over privately-funded and constructed public infrastructure, Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects and provide City oversight on federally-funded transportation programs. The Construction Manager ensures all projects are inspected at least twice daily and that inspectors are available for critical milestones such as pavement placement and utility testing. This team is also responsible for taking City of Norman Action Center complaints, project requests, inquiries and performing field surveys to assess and resolve issues.  They also initiate immediate actions on construction sites that impact the safety of the traveling public and workers on the site.
