Intersection of Alameda Street and Vicksburg Avenue to be an all-way stop Tuesday

The intersection of Alameda Street and Vicksburg Avenue will be an all-way stop with stop signs from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday while work to replace the traffic signal controller cabinet is completed. Drivers should plan extra travel time or locate an alternate route. This project is weather permitting.

Trash Service Update

The City of Norman Sanitation Division is operating on the regular service schedule this week following the unprecedented weather event. Residents may place excess garbage from last week’s delayed service in bags next to their polycart for collection.

Water Service Alert: Continued Conservation Needed

City water officials are asking customers to continue to conserve water over the next couple of days as water pressure remains low. Water storage tanks are taking longer to refill following the Water Treatment Plant’s temporary outage causing low-water pressure across Norman.

Norman hosts additional public meetings for input on transit study

The City of Norman is currently conducting the Go Norman Transit Study, a year-long comprehensive evaluation of the city’s existing transit service. City leadership has invited public participation throughout the study and designed several transit route concepts based on the feedback. They are inviting the public to now weigh in on the designs and route options to help finalize the plan.

The extreme weather conditions have affected treatment systems at the City of Norman Water Treatment plant causing low pressure across Norman. Crews are working diligently to repair the impacted components and restore water service as quickly as possible.

The City of Norman Water Treatment Plant is back up and running following emergency repairs. Freezing temperatures caused a burst pipe and damage to water treatment process components. Crews have repaired the water treatment system and water service has resumed.
