Thank you for your interest in adoption from Norman Animal Welfare. We are dedicated to bringing pets and people together by creating unique adoption experiences that support you every step of the adoption process.
We know that adopting from a shelter can seem overwhelming, so we have staff in place to welcome you and help you find the right fit for your lifestyle.
We invite you to view our adoptable pets online and to visit us at our Adoption Center. You can also make an appointment with our Adoption Coordinator who can walk you through the adoption process and help you find the right pet for you.
Pet Adoption Process
The Adoption Process
Before you adopt, we recommend doing your research to find out more about the tendencies and personality traits of the dogs and cats that interest you. While our staff can assist you onsite with specifics regarding the individual animal, it is good to understand the general breed characteristics and behavior traits. Potential adopters should also consider their preferences on age, animal size, exercise requirements, grooming needs, and potential health concerns of each breed or breed mix.
- Look online at our available pets. See below.
- No appointments are necessary to come visit with our adoptable animals. Our staff and volunteers will be available to help you through this process.
- Once you have found the right pet for you, our staff will assist you with completing our adoption paperwork. Remember you must be at least 18-years-old and have a photo identification card with your current address to adopt.
- All animals are our facility are first come, first served basis.
