Norman Animal Welfare rescues thousands of animals each year through stray recoveries and owner surrenders.
Stray animals are held:
- 5 business days if they have identification
- 3 business days if they do not have identification
Norman Animal Welfare makes every effort to reunite pets with their families -- especially those with current tags and/or microchips.
Animals that remain unclaimed following the hold period will be evaluated and placed in the adoption program. Norman Animal Welfare does not place time limits on adoptable animals.
If you see a stray animal that is at large or appears dangerous, call 405-321-1444 to report the location. An Norman Animal Welfare Officer will respond to the area.
Current stray animals at the Norman Animal Welfare facility waiting to be reunited with their families can be seen below.
