The Norman Police Department (NPD) responded to a report of an injury collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian near the intersection of State Highway 9 and John Saxon Boulevard at approximately 10:22 p.m. on August 7.

The initial investigation indicates that a vehicle was traveling eastbound on State Highway 9 approaching John Saxon Boulevard when a pedestrian entered the intersection and was hit by the vehicle.

The female pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased due to injuries sustained during the collision.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle was not injured during the collision.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the NPD/OUPD Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team.
