Norman Police Arrest Four in connection to Overnight Pursuit

The Norman Police Department responded to a report of suspicious activity and a gunshot being fired in the 3400 block of Pheasant Run Road at 5 a.m. Wednesday (January 20). Upon arrival, officers observed several males running from a vehicle with open doors. The males got into two vehicles and left the area at a high rate of speed. The officers attempted to initiate traffic stops on the two vehicles, but neither vehicle stopped.

One continued southbound on Interstate 35 and then began traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the roadway. At this time, the pursuit was terminated due to the driver’s unsafe driving behavior. The suspect bailed from the vehicle in the area of Interstate 240 and Interstate 35. One juvenile male was taken into custody without incident with assistance from the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Simultaneously, officers located the other vehicle in the area of Robinson Street and Crossroads Boulevard and initiated a pursuit. The vehicle came to a stop in the 1300 block of Dennison Court. Three juvenile males were located and taken into custody without incident. Two firearms were recovered from the juvenile males. 

In total, four juvenile males were taken into custody and transported to various juvenile detention facilities. Both vehicles were confirmed stolen. The incident remains under investigation.
