Job Description
This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., ยง 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.
Education and Experience: Applicant must be at least 16 (sixteen) years of age and have experience working with youths in a recreational atmosphere.
Knowledge: Recreation activities and programs.
Skill: Oral communication. Interpersonal skills necessary to be courteous to fellow employees and participants while performing duties.
Essential Functions: Responsible for working in a program for youths ages five (5) to eleven (11) in an after-school program. Organizes sports activities, recreational games, and craft classes. Performs general janitorial and maintenance duties. Performs other related duties as required. May work special events when scheduled.
Mental and Physical Abilities: Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 50% of the workday. Ability to lift and carry light (up to 25 lbs.) supplies, materials, and equipment frequently. Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) supplies, materials and equipment occasionally. Work requires continued walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.
Working Conditions: Works in a Recreation Center environment; however, time is spent outside exposed to temperature extremes, dirt, dust, noise, etc.
