Recent storms have caused damage in Norman, to include damage to trees and shrubs. To help in cleanup efforts, plans to make the City of Norman Compost Facility (398 Bratcher Mind Road) more accessible have been put into place by Utilities Management. The compost facility will be open to all residents and commercial businesses on Saturdays beginning March 18, 2023.
Usual rates will apply. Residents may visit free with proof of residency. Commercial businesses are $20 per load. (Please note: In 2024, the traditional Saturday opening during the month of April will resume. This 1-time change has occurred to assist with severe weather cleanup efforts.)
Effective March 18, 2023, the City of Norman Compost Facility is open Saturdays. The hours of operation are from:
- 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (Monday through Friday)
- 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM (Saturday)
Materials accepted: Leaves, grass clippings and limbs (no longer than 4 ft. lengths and 2 inches in diameter). All contaminated loads (paper, rocks, bricks, and trash) will be rejected.
