City Administrative Offices to close for 2023 Labor Day

City of Norman Administrative Offices will be closed Monday, September 4, 2023, in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. Please see details for various City operations below. 

Solid Waste Collection 

The Solid Waste Collection Division will remain on the regular schedule on Monday, September 4. Sanitation services, including residential, commercial, recycling and yard waste will collect as normal on Monday. The Compost facility and the Transfer Station will be open regular hours on Monday. 

  • The Compost Facility, located at 398 Bratcher Miner Road, is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
  • The Transfer Station, located at 3901 S. Chautauqua, is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

Transit

The City's primary transit service – EMBARK Norman – will not operate on Monday, September 4. Find schedule and real-time information at www.embarknorman.com.

The City’s Norman On-Demand service will not operate on Monday, September 5. Find more information about this service at city.ridewithvia.com/norman.

Parks & Recreation

All Recreation and Community Centers are closed for regular operations on Monday, September 4, including the Senior Center and the Little Axe Community Center.

  • Parks & Recreation will host an Out of School Camp from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on September 1 and September 5 at 12th Avenue Recreation Center, 1701 12th Avenue NE. The cost is $25 for the day and the program is offered for K-5th graders. For more information, please call (405) 292-7275.
