Construction at Southwest Corner of West Main St & Hal Muldrow Drive Thursday

The Sidewalks & Trails Project is expected to begin on Thursday, September 16. Construction will start at the southwest corner of Main Street and Hal Muldrow Drive intersection, and continue southward on Hal Muldrow Drive to Melrose Court. There will be no traffic closures on Main Street, but signage will be placed to alert drivers and pedestrians of active construction. As active construction progresses along Hal Muldrow Drive, a reduction in lanes will be required for the immediate construction area. Construction is expected to take 3-4 weeks, weather permitting.

The Sidewalks & Trails Project is one of six annual sidewalk programs for the City of Norman. This year’s Sidewalks & Trails Project will add 150 feet of new sidewalk to connect Hal Muldrow Drive to Main Street on the west side, complete significant sidewalk repairs on both sides and construct 33 ramps and curb cuts to make the entire path accessible in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act Guidelines.
