City of Norman Celebrates Independence Day

The tradition continues with a new name! The City of Norman’s Independence Day celebration has been a staple in the community for years. This year, the name has changed, but the fun is the same.

Come out to Reaves Park for Norman Fourth Fest! There will be food trucks, family yard games, live music, and a new area where individuals 21+ may enjoy local beer from our community breweries. Let’s not forget the fireworks show that has grown to be one of the biggest and best in the state of Oklahoma.

The 395th Army Band will kick off the evening at 5:00 pm with eclectic music, including patriotic favorites, jazz, contemporary, and more. The award-winning Jason Young Band will follow southern rock and country music from 8:00-9:45 pm.

The firework show will start once it is dark at 9:45 pm. Come to Reaves park with your lawn chairs and blankets, or tune into KGOU to see the fireworks from outside the park. The fireworks will also stream on Facebook Live for those who cannot make it to the show.

Westwood Family Aquatic Center will host a Red, White, and Blue swim to keep you cool from noon-6:00 pm at 1017 Fairway Dr. The cost is $5 and is free to season pass holders and children under 3 years old. There will be family friendly games every hour and all the exciting amenities Westwood has to offer will be available.
