Boyd Street Closure for Tree Removal

On Thursday, December 15, the City of Norman will temporarily close the northern lane of westbound traffic on Boyd Street between Deans Row and Asp Street to allow contractors to remove a hazardous tree just west of the mid-block alley at that location.  The alley will also be closed where it intersects Boyd while crews are working.  The lane will close at 8:30 am and re-open by 5:00 pm.

The tree has been in decline for years; including major damage done in recent winters from the polar air masses and ice events.  A new tree will be planted this winter in the area where this tree is being removed, along with a few other locations along the streets in the campus corner area.  For questions, contact the Parks and Recreation Department Forestry Division.
