Annual Juneteenth Event Planning Committee Seeks Additional Community Members

The resident planning committee for the annual Juneteenth Festival held in Reaves Park is looking for additional stakeholders to join and assist in committee efforts. The event is currently planned and hosted by a small group of residents and is co-hosted by the City of Norman - Parks & Recreation Department. The committee is looking for flexible, committed and collaborative team members who will attend bi-weekly meetings and work in-between meetings to plan and finalize event logistics. Committee meetings will be held on Friday afternoons in Downtown Norman. Committee member selection will be application based and you can access an application at to be considered.

The next meeting of the committee will be held on 3/3/2023 at 4 p.m. at the City of Norman Development Center, 225 N. Webster. Meetings will be held on the first and third Friday of each month at 4 p.m. Applications will be accepted until committee roles are filled.
