Ward 1 - Austin Ball

Councilmember Austin Ball was born and raised in Western Oklahoma and moved to Norman in 2003 to attend the University of Oklahoma after serving 4 years of enlisted service in the United States Marine Corps.  Upon graduation in 2006 with a BA in Sociology/Criminology, Mr. Ball joined the Oklahoma Army National Guard to attend the 18 month State Officer Candidate School, which he completed as the class’ Outstanding Academic Graduate.

Ward One begins at the intersection of Alameda Street and 12th Avenue N.E; thence East on Alameda Street to 36th Avenue N.E.; thence South on 36th Avenue S.E. to Lindsey Street; thence West on Lindsey Street to 24th Avenue S.E.; thence South on 24th Avenue S.E. to State Highway 9; thence Southwest on State Highway 9 to Classen Boulevard; thence Northwesterly on Classen Boulevard to Lindsey Street; thence East on Lindsey Street to 12th Avenue S.E.; thence North on 12th Avenue S.E. to Alameda Street to the point of beginning.

Councilmember Ball has proudly called Norman home since moving here in 2003 and has called Ward 1 home since 2018 when he moved there to be closer to the family and friends that also live in the ward.  Austin has six children, three of whom attend or will soon be attending Norman Public Schools.

Councilmember Ball serves on the Business and Community Affairs Committee and the Oversight Committee.
