The City of Norman advises motorists of an upcoming temporary road closure on 156th Avenue NE between State Highway 9 and Rock Creek Road to allow for an emergency pipe repair.

The closure will be in effect during traditional business hours on 10/30/25 and 10/31/25 and will be lifted outside of those times.

A detour route will be established directing through traffic to 168th Avenue NE during the closure period. This closure applies only to through traffic. Local residents and property owners will maintain access to their homes and properties.

City staff are working with any impacted agencies within the area, such as the Absentee Shawnee Tribe Resource Center, to ensure awareness of the work.
