UPDATE, 5/2/25: Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt issued an Executive Order declaring in an emergency in Cleveland County and other counties; Mayor Larry Heikkila issued a proclamation for a Disaster Emergency in Norman. View copies of these documents through links below.
UPDATE, 9 AM 4/30/25: Norman remains under a Significant Flash Flooding and Severe Weather Risk, per the National Weather Service. If travel must be had, motorists are again encouraged to stay aware of their surroundings and never drive into flooded roadways. Multiple roadways are closed throughout the city.
Note that although roadways may look dry following flood events, they are thoroughly inspected before reopening to ensure safety of motorists. Never drive around road barricades.

Residential Spring Cleanup collections will continue as weather conditions permit. Significant rainfall and severe weather has caused delays. Questions can be relayed to the Division of Solid Waste at (405) 329-1023.

Around noon 4/26/25, Norman public safety agencies reported that storm sirens in our community were tested in error. Sirens are generally not tested when facing other weather threats, to avoid any public confusion. The City of Norman regrets this error.
SPRING RESIDENTIAL CLEANUP INFORMATION
As of 12 PM 4/26/25, Solid Waste Collection Crews are paused due to flooded roadways. Items may be left at the curb until collected. Continued pickup for designated areas is expected to continue through early next week.
