The City of Norman Emergency Management Division has received notice from the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM) that the SoonerSafe Storm Shelter Rebate Program has officially reopened and is now accepting homeowner applications for the 2025 rebate cycle.

Homeowners interested in applying can visit soonersafe.ok.gov for the registration link, program rules and regulations, and frequently-asked-questions.

OEM shares that applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Once reviewed, applicant information will be submitted to FEMA for approval in the coming months. Rebates will not be awarded during the current storm season, but notifications are anticipated to begin in the summer of 2025.
