The Norman Police Department responded to a report of an injury collision at the intersection of Cedar Lane Rd. and Classen Blvd. at approximately 11:10 p.m. on May 8. 

The initial investigation indicates a deputy with the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office was traveling southbound on Classen Blvd. responding to another incident when they collided with a vehicle traveling westbound Cedar Lane Rd. in the intersection. The deputy’s lights and sirens were activated at the time of the collision. 

The CCSO Deputy was transported to an area hospital for injuries sustained during the collision. The deputy was later released after receiving treatment. 

The driver of the other vehicle, a 32-year-old female, sustained significant injuries in the collision and was later pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The collision remains under investigation by the NPD Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team.
