Norman Police Participate in Operation Traveler III Yielding 9 Arrests

The Norman Police Department recently participated in Operation Traveler III, an undercover operation aimed at stopping online child predators. The multi-day, online undercover operation posed investigators as minor children accessible for prospective child predators via multiple online platforms. With investigators posing as male and female children between the ages of 13 and 15-years-old, predators engaged the investigators in inappropriate conversation resulting in each suspect making lewd proposals and setting up a meet up. Upon arrival, the suspects were met by the investigator rather than the teen.

Operation Traveler III resulted in nine arrests and one ongoing investigation.
