Norman Police Investigate Disturbance

The Norman Police Department responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Ann Arbor Drive at approximately 6:48 p.m. Tuesday in reference to an incident that had just occurred in the 2800 block of 36th Avenue NW.

The reporting party, later identified as 18-year-old Isaac Braver, informed the officer that he and two others were in the 2800 block of 36th Avenue NW when they noticed a gathering of Unite Norman supporters. Braver stated that he started playing explicit music loudly and making rude gestures in an attempt to harass and antagonize those in the area.

Braver stated that a man, later identified as 62-year-old Sassan Moghadam, confronted him and a verbal disturbance ensued. Moghadam had a brick in his hand and informed Braver that he was placing him under citizen’s arrest. Braver informed Moghadam that he was going to leave and rolled up his window. Moghadam stated that he then placed a brick behind the wheel of the vehicle. As Braver began to back out to leave, Moghadam stated that Braver ran over the brick and his foot. Moghadam then threw a brick in the direction of the vehicle. Braver stated that he was able to leave the area without further incident.

Moghadam provided the officer with a similar report of the incident citing the driver and occupants’ behavior as well as their driving behavior as the reasons why he approached the vehicle and subsequently threw a brick in the direction of the vehicle after his foot was ran over.

Contrary to misinformation being shared publicly regarding this incident, an officer completed a report Tuesday evening based on the information gained from all parties involved in the incident. The incident was investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division. All involved parties have declined to pursue charges related to the matter. For this reason, the investigation into this incident will be closed at the request of the involved parties.
