Norman Juneteenth Festival Returns to Reaves Park for Sixth Annual Celebration

The City of Norman and the Norman Juneteenth Festival Committee invite the community to attend the Sixth Annual Norman Juneteenth Festival on Friday, June 19, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Reaves Park, 2501 Jenkins Ave.

This free, family-friendly event will feature live entertainment, food trucks, vendors, games, educational opportunities, fireworks and community activities celebrating African American culture, history and resilience. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, friends and family for an evening of celebration and connection.

This year’s festival theme, “Celebrating the Freedom & Resilience of African Americans Then, Now & Forever,” highlights the importance of honoring the past while celebrating the contributions and achievements of African Americans in the present and future.

New and returning activities for 2026 include the youth art show, the annual domino tournament, line dancing, a fireworks show and live performances by Oklahoman artists Original Flow and the Wavvez and Branjae. Additional entertainment details and festival information are available under the entertainment section at NormanJuneteenth.com.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and recognizes an important moment in American history. Communities across the country observe the holiday through educational programs, cultural events and gatherings that encourage reflection, unity and celebration.

“It’s an immense responsibility and pleasure for our team to plan an event that brings together the community, continues to honor a difficult history, and celebrates all we can achieve together,” said Tyra Jackson, Norman Juneteenth Festival Committee Chair. “Norman keeps growing and we’re proud to contribute to that legacy by uplifting African American culture and resilience. We’re excited for everyone to join us again this Juneteenth!”
