"Join us for an engaging and informative session with leading aquatic ecologists," said Mary Katherine Long, NACOK Community Organizer. "This workshop will explore the intricate relationships between plants, animals, and water quality in aquatic ecosystems like rivers, streams, and ponds. Participants will learn conservation-based management strategies that improve ecosystem health while promoting sustainability. This information will be meaningful for anyone interested in overall ecosystem and water health in their community."

Featured speakers include Kimberly Elkin (The Watershed Movement & Watershed Life Consulting), Amie Robison (The Pond Lady), and Jarryd Robison (Robison Wildlife Solutions).

The session is designed for homeowners, community leaders, environmental advocates, and anyone interested in preserving local water resources for future generations. Topics to be covered include the following.

  • Sustainable Pond and Lake Management – Learn best practices for maintaining water quality, controlling algae and invasive species, and promoting a balanced ecosystem in ponds and lakes.
  • Watershed Conservation and Individual Action – Discover the critical role watersheds play in water health and explore actionable steps individuals can take to protect and restore these vital resources.
  • Ecological Balance in Aquatic Environments – Understand the interconnectedness of aquatic life and explore innovative solutions for preserving biodiversity, preventing pollution, and enhancing habitat quality.
  • Resources and Strategies for Homeowners Associations – Gain practical guidance on how HOAs can implement sustainable water management practices, navigate regulations, and access resources to support long-term environmental stewardship.
