POSTED 4/16/25: Beginning Monday, April 21, 2025, the westbound outside lane of Imhoff Road, in the vicinity of Oakhurst Avenue, will be closed to traffic for construction of a widened section of Imhoff Road. The construction is expected to last for two months. At times during construction, Imhoff Road may be reduced to one lane in each direction through this area.

Travelers are encouraged to pay close attention to all construction traffic control signs and devices, and if possible find alternate routes to avoid congestion.

History of the Project

On 11/14/23, Norman City Council entered into a Disposition and Development Agreement (DDA) with Milestone Property Development LLC to sell real property located on the NE Corner of Imhoff and Oakhurst to be developed as an affordable housing development (Crimson Flats). The City is utilizing both Federal SLFTF funds and local funds for the project. As part of the DDA, the City agreed to complete certain site work and public improvements to the property.

One of the public improvements identified to be completed using this funding was the widening of Imhoff road, which abuts the development to the south. Construction will be performed by Silver Star Construction Company, Inc.

Proposed improvements include:

● Add an additional lane westbound on Imhoff Road along the proposed Crimson Flats development frontage

● New curb and gutter

● Revised signing and striping
