Kids Space at Reaves Park Closes Next Week

The Kids Space at Reaves Park will be closed Monday through Friday next week for routine maintenance.

City Park Maintenance Staff will replace structural posts that are showing signs of age and deterioration due to due to usage and exposure to the elements. This will require crews to disassemble portions of the playground to remove the old post and set the new ones. The tension on the bridge will also be tightened to reduce sagging. Repairs are being done out of an abundance of caution. These repairs will help increase the longevity of the overall structure.

Citizen volunteers built the playground structure as a community project on March 24-28, 1999. It is a 13,000 square foot playground made out of a mix of wood and composite materials.
