Councilmember Carter Cancels TIF Town Hall Meeting Tonight

Ward 2 Councilmember Joe Carter has cancelled tonight’s town hall meeting on the University North Park Tax Increment Finance District due to the rise in COVID-19 numbers over the weekend.

“With the much needed City Charter change on the horizon to require a vote of the people to approve Tax Increment Finance Districts the need for education regarding TIFs in Norman and their history is great. We have been asked by constituents to have a town hall meeting on the subject which was scheduled for this afternoon, but due to the alarming rise in Covid-19 numbers over the weekend this is not the time,” Councilmember Carter said. “We must postpone our planned town hall meeting and reschedule it to a date in the future. Remember safety first and wear your mask!”
