Council Accepting Applications for Interim Ward 2 Councilmember

Norman City Council accepting applications through April 23 to fill the Ward 2 council seat vacancy created by Matt McGarry’s resignation.

A committee of Ward 2 members will review applications and select a candidate for Council approval. In accordance with the City Charter, the seat will be filled by a majority vote of the remaining Councilmembers. The interim Ward 2 representative will serve until a representative is chosen by Ward 2 residents to fill the remainder of the term at the February 2022 election.

Interested applicants must be registered to vote in the City of Norman for six months and reside in Ward 2. Applicants must submit an application by Friday, April 23, 2020.
