UPDATE, 10:20 AM 5/5/25: Sanitation staff report that all loads are again being accepted at the City of Norman Transfer Station.

 

POSTED 12:15 PM 5/2/25: The City of Norman Transfer Station, 3901 Chautauqua Avenue, is currently unable to accept any commercial loads due to extended wait times at the landfill where trucks deliver waste. The conditions at most area landfills have deteriorated and become extremely muddy due to recent rains.

A timeframe regarding the inability to accept commercial loads at the Transfer Station has not yet been determined; improvements in weather conditions will allow normal operations to resume. Updates to the situation, including an announcement of when commercial loads can again be accepted at the Transfer Station, will be made available at Normanok.gov.

Residential load transfers at the Transfer Station are not impacted at this time.

The City of Norman regrets any inconveniences caused by this temporary change in service and appreciates the patience of community members.
