UPDATE, 10:20 AM 2/20/25: All solid waste collection trucks are in operation 2/20/25 and catch up services continue, in light of recent weather events. Safety is paramount for drivers and property, so staff appreciates the patience of customers this week. Please leave carts at the curb until serviced.
Rural routes (east of 48th NE) will be serviced on Saturday and Sunday, as conditions continue to improve.

POSTED, 9:30 AM 2/17/25: The National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisories and associated warnings for the Norman area the week of February 17, 2025. See information regarding City services and operations below. Relevant updates will continue to be posted to this webpage as they are made available.
CITY SITES & OPERATIONS
- Utility bill services divisions will close at 2 PM 2/18/25. Access the online payment system at any time to make utility payments. Other inquiries may be sent to custsvc@normanok.gov and will be responded to as quickly as possible.
- The City of Norman's Municipal Complex campus (City Hall, the Human Resources Building, Municipal Court and the Development Center) will be closed 2/19/25. Normal business hours are expected to resume 2/20/25.
- City of Norman Municipal Court has canceled court sessions for 2/18/25 and 2/19/25. Affected citizens have been notified directly. Should further cancelations or changes be made to court sessions throughout the rest of the week, affected citizens will again be notified directly.
- Solid Waste Collection services may be delayed during extreme winter weather, but should still occur for customers according to daily schedules. Routes will be evaluated each day on a case-by-case basis. Customers should leave out applicable carts until they are serviced. During the week of 2/17/25, catch up services are expected to run through the entire weekend to ensure all customers are serviced. Direct questions to 405-329-1023.
- Conditions regarding precipitation and temperature can greatly impact or limit the ways in which roadways can be treated for winter weather events. Public Works staff intends to begin pre-treatment activities 2/17/25 and will monitor conditions to modify operations as needed and as able.
- Travel is generally not advised during extreme winter weather but if travel must be had, motorists should proceed with caution, stay aware of surroundings, and keep a safe distance (200 feet) from any road clearing equipment.

UTILITY CONCERNS
The City of Norman is a water utility service provider. Water concerns or outages can be reported to 405-329-0703 during traditional business hours or to 405-321-1600 any other time. Other utility concerns or outages should be reported to your household providers such as OGE, OEC, or ONG. Dial 911 if there is an emergency. SHELTER & COMMUNITY RESOURCES
An emergency overnight shelter, operated by a third party partner agency, is located at the corner of James Garner & West Gray Street in Norman. It is open to anyone in need. On 2/18/25, this site will open at 4 PM and remain in service for 24 hours until at least 2/20/25. Call 405-652-1112 for more information.
