City of Norman prepares to apply for 2025 grant funding opportunity from the Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board

Proposals from qualified nonprofit agencies sought

The City of Norman is seeking proposals from qualified nonprofit agencies to partner with the City to address the effects of opioids locally, with the intention to apply for the 2025 funding round for the Opioid Abatement Grant(s) from the Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board.

In 2024, such funds went toward increasing behavioral health services in partnership with The Virtue Center.

Opioid Abatement Grants may only be used for “approved purposes” as defined by the Political Subdivisions Opioid Abatement Grants Act (74 Okla. Stat. §30.3 et seq.). Successful proposals must demonstrate that the program or service proposed for funding and partnership meets the approved purposes set forth in the Act. Approved purposes – such as supporting individuals in treatment or recovery from opioid use, abuse or disorder in Norman – are outlined within the City’s request-for-proposal, which can be accessed at: https://www.normanok.gov/sites/default/files/documents/2025-05/rfp-2425-60.pdf

Proposals are due by 5 p.m. 5/27/25 and may be submitted to Ashlynn.Wilkerson@Normanok.gov. The City of Norman is eligible to potentially receive a maximum amount of $750,000 over three years, should the City of Norman be awarded grant funding. Grant submissions will be further discussed at a presentation to Norman City Council in public forum on 6/3/25.
