NORMAN –COVID-19 vaccination appointments are now available for citizens ages 5 years and up at upcoming pop-up clinics throughout the Norman community this month:

  • November 14 | 2-4 p.m. at 12th Avenue Recreation Center, 1701 12th Avenue NE
  • November 21 | 2-4 p.m. at Whittier Recreation Center, 2000 W. Brooks Street
  • November 22 | Noon – 5 p.m. at Norman High School, 911 W. Main Street

The pop-up clinics are made possible by combination partnerships of the City of Norman, IMMYLabs, Norman Regional Health System, the Cleveland County Health Department, Norman Public Schools, the Norman Police Department and the Norman Fire Department. Incentives by way of gift cards and door prize drawings are available to encourage citizens to become vaccinated to protect themselves and others, and financed through the American Rescue Plan Act. Such incentives will be coordinated for attendees on-site. Clinics will offer first or second shots of Moderna and Pfizer, as well as booster shots of Moderna or Pfizer.

Six pop-up clinics were held throughout October and early November, which made immunizations possible for more than 800 community members.

Those interested in attending an upcoming clinic should book an appointment at https://portal.immylabs.com/vaccine.

In September 2021, the Norman City Council approved a COVID-19 vaccine incentives program to use $500,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (APRA) money for vaccination pods, mobile vaccination units, and gift cards incentives for vaccinations.

"Our goal is to use this program to try and bring vaccinations to everyone and help encourage individuals who might be on the fence about being vaccinated to get the shot,” said City Manager Darrel Pyle. "We brainstormed locations of where to host the pop-up vaccinations and came up with locations all over town to make the vaccine accessible for everyone that wants to be vaccinated."
