City of Norman Administrative Offices will close to observe 2025 Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Day of Service community activities also occurring

City of Norman administrative offices will be closed 1/20/25 to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Normal business hours will resume 1/21/25. See details on specific City operations and sites below.

 

  • Solid Waste Collection: Solid Waste Collection services – to include commercial, household and recycling – will run as normally scheduled on 1/20/25. The compost facility and transfer station will also be open during their traditional business hours. Learn more at: Normanok.gov/residents-visitors/trash-recycling.

 

  • Parks & Recreation: City of Norman Recreation Centers will be closed 1/20/25, with the exception of the 12th Avenue Recreation Center that will be operating an Out of School Camp. To learn more, call 405-366-5472.

 

  • Transportation services: Both EMBARK Norman (EmbarkNorman.com) and Norman On-Demand (city.ridewithvia.com/norman), will operate on 1/20/25.

 

  • Norman Animal Welfare: Norman Animal Welfare will be closed 1/20/25.

INTERFAITH BREAKFAST EVENT - 1/11/25

The City of Norman, in coordination with the Norman Human Rights Commission, will host the 2025 Interfaith Breakfast on 1/11/25 at the Nancy O’Brien Center for the Performing Arts. The center is located at 1801 Stubbeman Avenue.

 

A continental breakfast begins at 9 a.m., followed by the event program at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend; space is limited to the first 200 event goers.
