City administrative offices to close in observance of Juneteenth

Closure to occur Monday, June 20, 2022

Administrative offices of the City of Norman will close to observe the Federal Juneteenth Holiday. As the holiday falls on a Sunday, the City will make the observance by closure on Monday, June 20, 2022. Normal hours/operations will resume Tuesday, June 21, 2022.

SANITATION SERVICES

City of Norman Sanitation services (commercial pickup, residential curbside, to include recycling and yard waste) will remain on the regular schedule on Monday, June 20, 2022. The Transfer Station, 3901 Chautauqua Avenue, will be open normal operating hours – from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; the Compost Facility, 398 Bratcher Miner Road, will be open for normal operating hours – from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Questions may be directed to 405-329-1023.

PARKS & RECREATION SITES

The Senior Center and Little Axe Community Center will be closed Monday, June 20, 2022. Irving, Whittier and 12th Avenue Recreation Centers will be open for child care services only. All Westwood Park facilities will be open regular hours. For more information, visit normanparks.com.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

A Juneteenth Festival, co-hosted by the City of Norman, will take place at 5:30 p.m. on June 18, 2022, at Reaves Park (2501 Jenkins Avenue). The event is free and open to all. Find more information at normanok.gov.
