The Bike Giveaway, hosted by the City of Norman in partnership with the Trae Young Family Foundation and Prime Time Transportation, will return on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Young Family Athletic Center (YFAC) at 2201 Trae Young Drive, Norman, OK 73069. The event will begin at noon and aims to distribute 500 free bicycles to local children just in time for the holiday season.

This drive-through style giveaway welcomes families from across the community. No eligibility requirements are needed. Each vehicle may receive one bike, and the child must be present to participate. The giveaway will feature 16-, 18-, and 20-inch bicycles evenly split between boys’ and girls’ styles.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the chance to do this giveaway,” said Mitchell Richardson, Recreation Manager for Norman Parks and Recreation. “Providing opportunities for kids to learn, grow, and have fun is a privilege, and we’re thankful to everyone who helps make things like this possible.”

Families will enter on Conference Drive off of 24th Avenue Northwest, south of Embassy Suites, and turn left onto the east side of the hotel. They will then be directed to drive through the Embassy Suites parking lot which connects to the YFAC parking lot, where bicycles will be given away. Volunteers will be on site to direct motorists, who will ultimately exit back onto 24th Avenue Northwest.

A group of volunteers will distribute tickets to those in line. Once families decide on their bike, they will receive a ticket for that particular size and style. Another volunteer will load the bike for them.

The event will last until all bicycles have been given away.
