12th Ave Recreation Center closes through July 27 following positive employee COVID-19 test

The 12th Avenue Recreation Center will be closed through July 27 out abundance of caution after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee that tested positive was a camp counselor. Following guidance from the Oklahoma Department of Health, Norman Parks and Recreation staff will be contacting program participants that had direct contact with the employee. As a precautionary measure, employees at all City recreation centers will be tested for the virus.

The health and safety of parks facility and recreation center patrons is the top priority of Norman Parks and Recreation. Since reopening in June, all employees have been wearing masks with social distancing measures in place and frequent sanitization of high-use areas.
