Education and Experience:  High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.  One (1) year experience in janitorial, custodial, commercial car wash or related experience desirable. Any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job will be considered.

Licenses and Certifications:  Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record. Oklahoma Commercial Driver’s License, Class B endorsement preferred, but not required. Must maintain an acceptable driving record level throughout employment as monitored by periodic reviews of driving record.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:  Knowledge of the care and use of mops, brooms, scrub brushes, dusters, vacuum cleaners, and shampoo machines.  Knowledge of the use of cleaning materials such as soaps, powders and cleaning chemicals.  Ability to rapidly learn the activities and procedures related to the duties and responsibilities required by this position. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff. Ability to attend trainings on cleaning techniques, bloodborne pathogens protocols, and hazardous chemical protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities:  Cleans vehicular exteriors to include drive through automated wash, hand and pressure washing as well as the use of necessary chemicals used to clean windows & mirrors. Documents and reports damage. Uses bloodborne pathogens protocols to sanitize vehicle interior and or exterior. Assists in minor levels of exterior cleaning.  Drives light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles through automatic washer, refuels vehicles and parks vehicles in designated area. Completes vehicle inspection forms for every bus worked on during their shift. Verifies expiration dates, first aid kits, blood borne pathogen kits & spill kits for all buses serviced. Performs minor repairs to buses, including but not limited to, headlights, wiper blades, swapping of defective tire and wheel assemblies, inspecting exhaust for leaks, engine accessory belts, and tension, checking levels and filling all applicable fluids.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:  Duties are primarily performed in a vehicle service and storage area where the employee may work in close quarters and be exposed to hazards related to chemicals within OSHA safety standards. Work independently without regular supervision. Duties require the physical movements to clean vehicular interiors, including bending, kneeling, and crouching.

Mental and Physical Abilities:  Physical ability to lift in excess of 25 pounds. Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.

Additional Information: Selected applicant must pass background investigation, physical examination and drug screen.
