This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.
Education and Experience: Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
Licenses: Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
Skills: Ability to perform general maintenance work. Ability to work in extreme heat. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to operate city equipment.
Essential Functions: Perform general maintenance work including cleaning of buildings, mowing, weed eating and painting. Operate city equipment. Specific duties and other responsibilities may vary.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Position may include any or all of the following: Much of the work is performed in inclement weather and during all seasons. Some work is performed in confined areas, on slick and wet surfaces. Employees are exposed to vibrations, loud continuous noise, offensive smells, dust, dirt, and water. Exposed to injury from moving equipment, insect bites, poisonous plants, flying objects, slippery surfaces, and hazardous material. Must have strength to pull, lift, push 50 pound objects on a frequent basis and up to 75 pounds (such as a bag of cement) on an infrequent basis; flexibility to bend, twist, and reach; mobility to climb, crawl, and walk; dexterity to operate machinery and tools on uneven surfaces, etc.; and stamina to exert self throughout the day in all weather conditions. Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.
