Salary: $54,058 ($25.99 non exempt minimum hourly rate)
Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday (on call 24/7)

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Three to four years of construction, maintenance, and/or repair experience in area of specialization including one year supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Licenses and Certifications: Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record. Valid State of Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) Class C Operator, Wastewater License.

Knowledge: Methods and techniques used in area of specialization. Policy, procedures and SOP’s in area of specialization. Tools, equipment, materials used in area of specialization. Occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations. Operation of personal and networked computers

Skills: Operation and use of equipment and tools used in specialized area. Planning work, laying out schedules, and supervising a crew to obtain effective result and meet established time frames. Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively lead subordinates, resolve minor com-plaints, and deal with day to day occurrences. Communicating both orally and in writing.

Mental and Physical Abilities: Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance. Analytical ability to plan work schedules, evaluate work performances, diagnose facility and equipment malfunctions, and determine necessary repairs. Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy (25-50 lb.) and heavy (50-75 lb.) supplies, materials, and debris frequently. Work requires continued walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential Functions: Supervises construction, maintenance, and repair personnel; instructs employees in correct methods and procedures; trains employees in safe operation of equipment; monitors and inspects work in progress to ensure safety, quality, and timely completion of work; reviews and evaluates employee performance. Participates in the construction, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment equipment, wastewater pipelines including water meters, lift stations, pumps, motors, telemetry systems, SCADA systems, electrical systems, aeration blower systems, dewatering centrifuges and grounds and other facilities on plant grounds. Ensures the necessary materials and equipment are available at each job site; ensures equipment and vehicles are in proper working order and are maintained on a timely basis; notifies supervisor of major equipment and work problems. Ensures workers maintain awareness of others within the work area, maintain a clean and safe work area, follow safety rules and safe work practices, and use safety equipment when required. Maintains appropriate records in area of specialization such as equipment maintenance and repair records, inventory of parts, log of work completed and time and materials used, injury reports, and related reports. Troubleshoots equipment failures com-plaints and takes necessary action. Instructs operation on the proper use of some equipment. Keep inventory of all treatment plant critical spare parts inventory. Plans and direct maintenance staff on duties daily with follow up of assigned duties. Works with Plant Mechanic to assure all plant equipment is operating at optimal efficiency.

Working Conditions: Frequent exposure of up to 80% of work time to dirt, dust, extremes of temperature, noise, and noxious fumes and odors. Exposed to hazards associated with equipment, machinery, ungraded terrain at construction sites, and moving vehicles on roadways.
