Information message Please review and acknowledge the following list of terms and conditions listed below are met and understood before signing and submitting the Norman Animal Welfare Foster Application. Fosters must be at least 18-years-old to foster for Norman Animal Welfare. Potential fosters must complete a volunteer application, authorize a background investigation, complete the foster application, and attend foster orientation before being approved. Norman Animal Welfare reserves the right to make amendments, additions, and deletions to this agreement at any time without notice. Copies of any changes will be provided to the foster. All fostered animals will be treated in a humane manner at all times. Norman Animal Welfare reserves the right to complete home visits at any time during a foster period. The Norman Animal Welfare Foster Program allows for the temporary care of animals in urgent need of care or special attention due to a wide variety of reasons. I fully understand that the animal(s) is/are are temporaily in my care and legally belong to Norman Animal Welfare. I will return the animal(s) to Norman Animal Welfare on the date agreed upon or sooner if requested. Norman Animal Welfare may request the return of a foster animal(s) at any time without explanation. I fully and completely release the City of Norman, Norman Animal Welfare, all of its directors, officers, and employees from any defects or illnesses this animal(s) may have or develop from any claim, cause of action, or liability for any injury or damage to persons, animals, or property that may be caused by fostering this animal(s) and I may be personally held responsible for any damage(s) caused by the animal(s) to a third party while the animal(s) are in their care. If the animal(s) dies or is lost while in foster care, I will immediately report the situation to Norman Animal Welfare. If it is not during business hours, I will notify Norman Animal Welfare as soon as it reopens for business. In the event the foster animal needs medical treatment, I will contact Norman Animal Welfare immediately. If it is not during business hours, I will call the afterhours phone number (405-321-1444) and speak to the Animal Welfare Officer that is on-call who will let me know how to proceed. If I take the animal to a vet while in my care, I will be responsible for any cost incurred. I will not give the animal(s) away or promise the animal to another person while it is in foster care. If any person is interested in adopting the animal(s) in my care, I will have them contact Norman Animal Welfare for further information. I agree and understand that the foster animal(s) cannot leave the state of Oklahoma. If there is an emergency and I need to go out of state, I will contact Norman Animal Welfare to return the animal(s) to the shelter. I understand that I will not be compensated for any expenses incurred while fostering the animal(s). Dog(s) must be kept in a secure area, either by a securely fenced yard with an adequate dog house or inside my residence. Dog(s) will not be kept outside tied with a rope, chain, cable or any such device. Dog(s) are prohibited from running at large. Any dog(s) that I keep inside, I will provide adequate exercise. Cat(s) that are fostered must be kept indoors at all times unless on a harness and leash in the company of the foster, or in a carrier in the control of the foster. The foster animal(s) will be fed, watered and exercised appropriately. If I decide to adopt the animal(s), I will complete the Norman Animal Welfare adoption procedures. Adoption fee may apply. All appropriate paperwork and tags will be returned to Norman Animal Welfare when fostering is complete.
