Norman Police Investigate Deadly Crash on Robinson

The Norman Police Department (NPD) responded to a report of an injury collision involving a vehicle and bicycle in the 5500 block of W. Robinson Street at approximately 3:31 p.m. on April 26. 

The bicyclist, a 65-year-old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The initial investigation indicates that a vehicle hit a bicyclist before leaving the scene and then causing several additional injury collisions in the area. Officers located the involved vehicle nearby.

The driver of the involved vehicle, later identified as 32-year-old Caleb Gray, was taken into custody without incident. Gray was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on complaints of Manslaughter - First Degree, Leaving the Scene of a Accident involving Injury (two counts), Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Fatality, and DUI. 

The collision remains under investigation by the NPD/OUPD Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team.
