POSTED 5/8/23: The Norman Neighbors Project, powered through the Neighborhood Alliance of Central Oklahoma, will partner with City of Norman staff to host two “Streetwise Norman” workshops from 6-8 p.m. on May 11 and May 18 at Sarkeys Foundation, 530 E. Main Street. The free events will provide community members with the tools to identify public health hazards and information needed to effectively report them.

“We are looking forward to meeting with the residents we serve and another opportunity to share vital information,” said Lisa Krieg, CDBG Grants Manager for the City of Norman. “We have had rewarding experiences with hosting these types of workshops in the past and are hopeful for two evenings of great turnout.”

Popular items of discussion include: Tall grass and weeds, yard parking, abandoned structures, inoperable vehicles and loose animals. Dinner will be provided and attendees will be set up for 20-minute rotations for roundtable discussions with City officials during the event. The first workshop will focus on public safety and the second workshop will focus on community development. Individuals can register to attend here. All major departments of the City of Norman will be represented at the workshops; elected officials will also be in attendance.
