BNSF Railroad Tie replacement project

UPDATE, 3/29/22: 

On Tuesday March 29, 2022 the BNSF railroad began reconstruction of the roadway crossing at Franklin road. This reconstruction will consist of removal and replacement of concrete roadway panels, replacement of damaged or deteriorated rail ties, and replacement of track sections. This work is expected to last for a duration of 5 days. An alternate route with signage will be established to guide the travelling public during this construction. This reconstruction consists of removal and replacement of concrete roadway panels, replacement of damaged or deteriorated rail ties, and replacement of track sections. This work is expected to last for a duration of 3 days. An alternate route with signage has been established to guide the travelling public during this construction. Published 3/12/22:

The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad will be conducting railroad tie replacement operations throughout the City of Norman, beginning the third week of March 2022.

All 16 railroad crossings in the City of Norman may be impacted by these BNSF repairs, with some locations receiving additional maintenance to roadway crossing panels. Temporary closures of roadways during construction are to be expected. Each roadway closure is unlikely to last more than 48 hours with this project. Work zone signage will be provided to guide the travelling public. 

Relevant updates, as relayed by BNSF, will be made to the public as needed.
