Mission:
The Sewer Line Maintenance Division is responsible for safely
transporting wastewater from the community and commerce to the wastewater
treatment facility. The wastewater collection system is maintained in such
condition as to minimize service disruption, household backup or overflows into
the environment. Public health and safety are the primary focus of this Division
along with employee safety and development.
Description:
Sewer Line Maintenance personnel maintain approximately 455
miles of sanitary sewer mains, seventeen sewage pumping stations, and 10,631
manholes.
Personnel are on duty from 8:00 a.m. to midnight daily, 7
days a week, 365 days a year. All division employees are on call 24 hours a day
to ensure quick response to main breaks, sewer main stoppages, overflows and
lift station malfunctions.
