We have identified four current types of neighborhood groups
which share the following interests.
 |
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT (CDBG) NEIGHBORHOODS - These neighborhoods are primarily located
in the "core" areas of Norman and are eligible for federal funds set aside
for special projects on the basis of neighborhood income. |
 |
CRIME WATCH NEIGHBORHOODS -
There are over 50 neighborhood watch groups in the City of Norman.
Each crime watch neighborhood has a beat officer assigned to their area and
a city contact person is available for assistance. |
 |
COMMON AREA MAINTENANCE
NEIGHBORHOODS - These associations and homeowners groups share a common
area of interest: perhaps a right of way, a pool, street lights, etc.
that needs to be maintained. |
 |
NEIGHBORHOOD PARK GROUPS -
These people share an interest in the design, maintenance, and needs of the
park that services their neighborhood. |
