The need for careful planning is very important for me and for anyone who enjoys watching the beautiful night skies. I teach astronomy at a local high school and stargazing is an important part of providing my students with an experience that has potential to be enjoyed for a lifetime. I have seen dramatic changes in our skyline that has caused the once magnificent show of light and color to be reduced to a speckling of stellar objects. This has caused our stargazing to more further out of the city.
