Revitalization Division

 

The mission of the Revitalization Division is to provide a higher quality of life in Norman by protecting the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Norman. The Revitalization Division is responsible for the ongoing process of revitalization of our community through the  management of federal grants related to housing and community development. Further, the revitalization Division is responsible for the enforcement of various codes that affect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Norman.

 

 

CDBG & HOME Programs

Funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and the HOME Program funded by the US Department of Housing & Urban Development can be utilized to fund a variety of public services and projects targeted  to assist low-moderate income families, under take community redevelopment and foster economic development.

Housing Rehabilitation, Accessibility and Emergency Repair

Funded through the CDBG and HOME Program, This program allows low-moderate income homeowners to undertake home repairs, make accessibility modifications or make emergency repairs to their homes. Homeowners qualify for this program on an income level basis.

Homebuyer Assistance

Funded through the HOME Program, This program provides assistance to first time homebuyers enabling more Americans to enter the home ownership market.

Code Compliance

This unit of the Revitalization Division is responsible for the ongoing enforcement of environmental health and safety codes including, but not limited to, weed abatement, junk and debris removal; hotel, motel and rooming house licensing, and the condemnation and removal of dilapidated structures. All complaints are received anonymously.
