Senior Center Visioning Conference planned for March 15


Norman’s senior citizen community is invited to a discussion and visioning conference for the Norman Forward Senior Center on Friday, March 15 at the Moore Norman Technology Center, located at 4701 12th Ave. NW. 

The event will begin at 10 a.m. with a message from Mayor Lynne Miller followed by presentations from leaders in the area of senior center planning. Residents will also have an opportunity to provide their input on the Norman Forward Senior Center during an afternoon discussion session. 

Keynote speakers include planning consultant Jill Jackson Ledford; a representative of the OKC MAPS 3 Senior Health Center Subcommittee; and Claire Downers-Nichols, Executive Director of Healthy Living OKC. The program is expected to last until 4 p.m. and lunch will be provided.

10:15 a.m. - Educational showcase of new senior facilities and trends: Jill Jackson-Ledford, planning consultant

1 p.m. - Discussion of OKC MAPS 3 Senior Wellness Center Project: Subcommittee Member
1:45 p.m. - Discussion on center operations models: Claire Dowers-Nichols, Executive Director of Healthy Living OKC
2:30 p.m. - Senior programming audience input session: Jill Jackson-Ledford, planning consultant 
4 p.m. - Closing remarks: Mayor Lynne Miller
