Center City Form-Based Code Public Meetings

The City began a process in 2014 to look at the redevelopment of a 42-block study area of the City near downtown west of the railroad tracks. There was a week-long charrette held in May, 2014 to get public input on how development might look in the study area in order to create a Form-Based Code. An Executive Committee and Steering Committee have been working with consultants to produce a draft Center City Form-Based Code based on the input from all stakeholders. The final draft of the form based code is located at

The next step in the process is to hold public meetings to gather public input into the Code and to address questions. The City Planning and Community Development Department will hold two public meetings regarding the Center City Form-Based Code on January 6, 2016 and January 13, 2016 in the City Council Chambers. The meetings will begin at 6:00 pm. The Planning and Community Development Director will present material based on the recent presentation made to City Council by Mary Madden of Ferrell Madden on December 1, 2015.
