Public meetings on Senior Wellness Center design planned Sept. 18, Oct. 30

Norman residents are invited to provide their input on the design of the new Norman Forward Senior Wellness Center at public meetings on Wednesday, September 18 and Wednesday, October 30. 
Both meetings will begin at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 201 W. Gray St., and will be live streamed on the City’s YouTube page at https://www.youtube.com/CityOfNormanOK. Questions and comments can be emailed to ParksRec@normanok.gov during the meeting will be answered live. 
Attendees of the September 18 meeting will hear a presentation from the project’s design architect and engineers FSB and project consultants Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture, on senior center trends and program options. Following the presentation will be a question and answer session and a group activity to identify program preferences. 
Residents will also have the opportunity to provide their input through a survey that will be launched on September 23, 2019. The survey will close on October 25, 2019 and the results will be presented at the public meeting on October 30. The survey will be available online at www.normanwellnesscenter.com and at City Hall, Norman Senior Center, Westwood Park, Little Axe Community Center and Whittier, Irving and 12th Avenue Recreation Centers. Initial concepts for floor and site plan options will also be presented at the October meeting with public discussion to follow.
The Senior Center Ad Hoc Committee will also discuss design plans at their meetings on September 17 and December 3. Both meetings will be held at City Hall and are open to the public.
