How To Read Your Water MeterStart by reading the highest numbered dial and go left to right around the meter's face until the thousand gallon dial is reached. (Read the thousand gallon dial)
Low numbers are between "0" and "5" High numbers are between "5" and "0" Using the example above. On Dial 1 the hand is between 3 & 4. To find out which number it is to look at dial 2. Dial 2's hand is on a high number (5 to 0) so the number on dial 1 would be the lowest number. Go to dial 2. The hand is on 7. Look on dial 3. If the hand is on a lower number (0 to 5) then the number for dial 2 would be the 7. Go to dial 3. The hand is between 3 & 4. To get the number go to dail 4. Dial 4 is on a high number (5 to 0) so the number on dial 3 would be the lowest number. Go to dial 4. The hand is on 8. Look at dial 5. If the hand is on a low number (0 to 5) then the number for dial 4 would be the 8. So your reading would be: 3 7 3 8 |
