Work Resumes on Traffic Signal at 36th Avenue NW and Havenbrook Street

On Monday work will resume on the construction of a new traffic signal at the intersection of 36th Avenue NW and Havenbrook Street.  The widening of 36th Avenue NW to accommodate the signalization was completed in June 2017. The signalization phase should be complete by the end of the year.

This next phase of the project will not close the road, but the drilling and pouring of the concrete drilled shafts for the signal poles will require that the outside lanes of 36th Avenue NW be closed for approximately two weeks.

Signage and barricades will be used to direct motorists and for the safety of the workers. Access to area businesses will be maintained at all times. The $1,105,800 project is being funded with 80% federal funds and 20% city funds.

Silver Star Construction Company and their subcontractors will be performing the work under the supervision of Jacobs Engineering on behalf of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. For additional information, please contact Mike Rayburn, City of Norman capital engineer, at 217-7713.
